At Modern Kids Design, we love toys! Melissa & Doug have been providing fun, educational toys for over 25 years. Their iconic puzzles, stuffed animals, and play food are instantly recognizable. Melissa and Doug Bernstein began the company in their garage, initially focusing on educational videos. Thankfully, they made a creative leap into toys—and we’re glad they did.

One of Melissa & Doug’s initial focuses was puzzles. Their wood puzzles integrated fabric, sounds, and bright colors to engage the senses. Now, Melissa and Doug products run the gamut from puzzles to play food, costumes to puppets and more. They aim to enrich the lives of children through their creative products and make toys for various age ranges. With so many to choose from, there’s sure to be something for everyone on your list.

Here are few of our favorite toys for this holiday season.

Cool Looking Toys:

The Mega Race Car Carrier features a hauler and six race cars. Kids can count the cars, roll them up and down the hauler, and push the hauler around while they pretend to race and drive.

A great set for the older kids, the Deluxe Magic Set will help children master the art of of the illusion as they gain better fine motor skills. Complete with ten tricks, this set will entertain children aged eight and up.

Imaginative Play Toys:

Melissa & Doug’s play food sets have become iconic. Featuring a buffet of different foods, they let children explore and learn while they pretend to cook, serve, or eat. Melissa & Doug make a slew of educational toys. So many, in fact, that it was hard to pick some of our favorites! We love how Teddy Wear makes learning to work with different fasteners a snap. He’s huggable and educational. The Number Matching Math Bus makes learning numbers a breeze by incorporating a puzzle and a vehicle. The large pieces are easy for little hands to grab and the toy can be used in as many ways as your little one can think of!

Take-Along Toys:

We love toys that can travel easily, especially around the holidays. With their Take-Along Horse Stable Playset and their Fold N Go Barn, Melissa & Doug making traveling with children easy.
